| 22 Mar 2001 | Slovio | i love the background and the braid but i think that the tail is too short and the human body is a little to fat. good job | |
| 9 Apr 2001 | John (Hui) Li | Ok, for some reason the marks on the hind end gives me the willies... I'm not too good at handling little bumps or dots all clustered together... a phobia of mine, I think, although not a very powerful one. It probably doesn't look like that, but this monitor has a way of reducing lines into little blocks of shapes. *brrrr* Anyhoo, aside from all that, this makes a rather convincing model for sagittarius, no? | |
| 17 Apr 2001 | Ken McCracken | I've seen you do better anatomy, both human and equine, so my guess is that you went 'solo' on this one and didn't use photo references. Well, you should use photo when you need to cause we all do . . . !!!! It is especially hard when you need to draw an archer, because the arms ends up invariably needing foreshortening, and that makes for difficult guesswork. If you can't find the right photos, get a big mirror and use yourself as a model. Not for the horse anatomy, obviously. Also, I know you have a background here, but perhaps the view needs a clue as to what is going on here. Is the centaur hunting, or involved in a battle? Maybe there could be a dead orc in the background or something like that . . . | |
| 16 Aug 2003 | Silver Griffin | Better than any Centaur I've ever drawn! | |
| 28 Feb 2004 | Katrina Marie French | The horse is nice except for the tail...but the human...I'm having trouble at guessing if it's a male or female (SORRY!) has a wierd anatomy. The chest and the arms need a little work. Overall though, I love the sense of urgency and the movement of the piece. | |
| 13 Apr 2004 | Anonymous | The tail is kind of funky. It should be more flowing and not end so suddenly. The human part is a bit small for the horse part. The anatomy is so hard for centaurs. Over all, I like it allot. | |
| 7 Jun 2004 | Rellegade Gray <UnicornCha | I think you draw amazing centaurs! really you do! I only see one thing. The hindquarters seem a little shrunken, kinda slanted inward a bit, kinda anemic. For a horse that wouldnt be very realistic. But I think the girl is absolutely perfect! I am a Saggatarius also! Love your work keep drawing MORE UNICONRS! THE WORLD NEEDS MORE UNICORNS! | |
| 25 Dec 2004 | J. Grota | Actually, I like the fact that the tail is cut short. It seems to me that a practical centaur might keep their tail cropped, so it's less likely to get tangled or caught on something. Erin Stevenson O'Connor replies: "Yes! That is exactly what I was going for. Thanks for the comment!" | |
| 22 Jan 2006 | Horsey Lover | Great job but I think that the rump of the horse looks a tad funny hint: Observe horses rear ends! Great job though!!! | |
| 5 Feb 2006 | Kate Frizzell; Katybeth | I can't believe no one has mentioned the arm. *gasps* Sorry, I don't think arms bend that way. Take their advise and get a photo reference. I'm sure lots of people all over the net have pics of archery practice. A running horse is also an easy pic to find. *worships reference pics* Good luck! | |
